The Trend Towards Movie Downloads - Fox Studio Pushing it Forward

Fox will launch this new effort on September 18th with the release of "Prometheus", their biggest title so far this year, three weeks before the DVD, Blu-ray, and VOD options. In addition, they will be offering more than 600 films under the program, branded as Digital HD.
So will this be the norm going forward? Apparently so, Fox says that it will offer the Digital HD download versions about two weeks earlier, starting with Prometheus, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Ice Age: Continental Drift, The Watch, and Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: Dog Days.
How much can you save? With this push, they are also discounting their pricing on digital downloads as a further incentive. Where they were typically charging around $20 on average, they now are targeting a download price of around $15, a 25% discount!
